Anushka Sharma and ViratKohli are known as the power couple. One is a leading Bollywood actress while the other one is the Indian Cricket Team Captain. Both have given outstanding performances and made a mark in their fields.

 

This star couple tied the knot in 2017 in Italy. Early this year in February this couple welcomed their first child Vamika. Both of them belonged to middle-class families with humble backgrounds and rose to stardom with sheer hard work. They have always been associated with humanitarian works off-screen and off the field.

Recently, due to the COVID surge, they took an initiative to raise funds and aid the needy. Initially, they intended to raise Rs. 7 crores and now they have increased their target to Rs. 11 crores as entrepreneurs and individuals came forward extensively for this noble cause.

India is currently in a tense situation battling the second wave of COVID-19. People from all walks of life are coming forward with help. There is a need for hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, food, water, medicine, and oxygen concentrators. People are helping in every way to aid those who are at the worst end.

Virushka’s initiative will see all the proceeds raised to be directed to ACT Grants who is the implementation partner for this campaign. ACT has been working widely to provide medical manpower, oxygen, vaccination awareness, and telemedicine facilities throughout the pandemic. The amount raised by Virushka will help ACT together in their exemplary work.

Anushka wrote on her social media platform, “Virat& I are thankful to MPL Sports Foundation for strengthening our efforts to help India fight the pandemic. Your donation of 5 crores empowers us to keep going and has allowed us to increase our goal to 11 crores.”

This actress was last seen in the romantic comedy-drama Zero in 2018. There is no future announcement regarding her next assignments.
